Is Jeter the most overrated player in the Majors?
Be honest with me Jeter-Jockers, he's overrated. If he was a Mariner or Royal then he would be just another all-star, not a Superstar like he's being made out to be.
His defense is overrated, how he won 2 Gold Gloves is Beyond Me. Is Offense is good, but not great. He cant hit for power, and doesnt posses much Speed on the bases.
He's a good team leader, but thats because he's been surrounded with talent the moment he got to the Major League level, with the '98 Yankees were full of veteran good players, etc.

yes. you took the words right out of my mouth. i've been saying this for a long time now. Derek Jeter is just an above average hitter with poor defense. people praise him for his leadership and unselfishness, but you could say the same about a lot of other players as well. if he had played for the Nationals, would he still be as popular as he is today? no way. let's face it, Jeter does not belong in the Hall of Fame. he was really lucky to be on the Yankees during the 1990s.
