Switch box # 2 is a) black, white, red 2) black, white 3), white black. How I can wire in a three way switch?
Am replace light switches of the Board, Switch # 1 has two wires (black, red, white) (black, white). Switch # 2 has 3 wires (black, red, white) (black, white) (black, white). How do you connect all cables to the switch # 2? I'm using a 3-way switch, is this correct?
If you have a meter, you should check to see where you are able. I'll assume (silly me) that the box with three wires is the power supply. I just take because there are two 2-wire with three wires that probably means the power in power more than 3 wires. If that is the case, the queue of blacks of the two cables 2 together and place the flexible cable in the black or "common" screw 3 way switch. Take the red wire three and put it under one of the brass screws and take the black of the three wires and place it under the other brass screw. Turn nut and the three whites together. Box # 1 of whites and fold together wirenuted, black Two cable is under the black or "common" screw and the red and black wires of the three wires are under the brass screws. Understand, this is if the power supply in box # 2 ... Hope this helps ....
